| About the artist:
Gerrard Schueft was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt and was raised and still lives in Chemnitz. Since 2008 he has taken part in poetry slams with his heart, voice and humour. Observations of daily life he dissects into tiny pieces and reassembles them with his view of the world and society. But he is never disconnected from the audience. Everyone can find themselves in his texts and laugh with him in the end. In addition, he is a presenter, cultural event organiser and in 2018 he was the champion of Chemnitz, finalist of the Saxon regional championship of poetry slam and semi-finalist of the German-speaking championship in Zurich. |

| Artistic Reflection:
It was on the news in 2019. That for the first time they had found microplastics in human faeces. Not the fact, but the jubilant, almost triumphant manner of the report confused me. I would like to be – with my own means – thought-provoking but never depressing and I want to encourage positive change.
